I have for sale this very rare fantastic Pauline Baynes original illustration from Page 61 from ‘Habbitrot’ from ‘Country Tales’ by Beatrix Potter.

Pauline was well known for her J.R.R Tolkien and C.S Lewis illustrations but she also illustrated many other books..
Country Tales is Published by F.Warne and Co in 1987 the book contained three stories: Little Mouse; Daisy and Double & Habbitrot.
Habbitrot is story of a mysterious old women, spinning in the wood.

The painting 90 x 110mm. It is unsigned but includes Pauline’s narrative in pencil under the image.
I comes newly framed in black and painted pewter wood frame ready to hang – 38cm x 33cm.

Also included is an exceptionally rare copy of the book in which all the art has appeared.
