A sweeping panorama across the vast silhouette of Gormenghast castle rising over its own sprawling city of stone. At its base huddle the crooked dwellings of the Bright Carvers, wood-smoke curling between crowded rooftops, lanterns glowing against encroaching dusk. Above, the Tower of Flints looms cracked and ancient, owls wheeling in restless circles against a storm-churned sky, their cries threading omens through the air. Shadows stretch long across courtyards and battlements as the wider drama gathers—ambition, ritual, and rebellion coiling beneath the castle’s immense, indifferent grandeur. A world poised on the edge of unraveling, vast and inevitable.
